This project called for an enclosed dog run and a sizeable custom doghouse for two adorable Labrador Retrievers. The dogs’ kennel and yard are enclosed with the attractive Kentucky Board Fence and includes two matching gates at opposite ends. The custom doghouse is insulated and incorporates a shaded porch large enough for both dogs.

Our client spent a considerable amount of time completing this piece of needlework. She requested that we incorporate the finished piece into a practicable Serving Tray and have the needlework protected under glass.
This project was completely custom. The Serving Tray frame profile was milled to allow for 1/4″ glass, the professionally mounted needlepoint, and a Cherry back-piece ~ all retained by a removable stop. The removable stop will allow for access, if necessary, in the future.

This piece is to be incorporated into a mantel in a custom home being built in Lake Isabella, California. We worked with our client in designing this relief to his specifications and he is thrilled.
Below is a picture of the piece during the “roughing” pass . . . the beginning of a 10 1/2 hour process.
This relief measures 65 1/2″ long by 11 1/2″ high.
I used a 1/8″ ball nosed cutter to obtain the most detail.
